A score of 9.83 in the men’s over 45’s saw Coffs Harbour’s Richard Smith take the wave of the day at the New South Wales Longboard Titles in Bonny Hills.
A four foot swell provided ideal conditions for surfers, and in the over 40’s men, Verge’s Creek’s Rob Page easily took out semi-final one.
Yamba’s Hayden Swan came in second, ahead of North Curl Curl’s Jason Livingston.
While Byron Bay’s Steve Mills took out the second semi-final.
The action continues at Rainbow Beach tomorrow, with finals on Saturday.
