The trek from the car park to Port Macquarie Base Hospital has been made much easier for patients and visitors, with the launch of an E-car Buggy shuttle service.
The people-mover will be operated by a team of volunteers from the Pink Ladies between 8am and 3 o’clock each afternoon.
“Your heart knows that you’ve done something too for the community and you know they’re going to benefit, you know the people that are sick, that can’t walk – it’s a long way.”
A $10,000 donation from Coastline Credit Union and $1,500 from the Lions Club helped Pink Ladies reach its target to start the service.
Two shelters have also been constructed as pick up points in the car park.
