REFUGEE WEEK: PROFILES ON RESTORING HOPE
Refugee Week is more than an awareness campaign. It’s a celebration of stories, traumatic and hopeful, that bring us closer to understanding the weaknesses and strengths of humanity.
Australia has a significant intake of refugees each year. The majority enter via government humanitarian programs and a small percentage arrive seeking asylum. Their origins hang on the globe’s theatres of war. First they came from Europe, then Asia, Africa and now the Middle East.
NBN caught up with the lastest arrivals from Afghanistan, as they spoke about their journey and what Refugee Week 2013 ‘Restoring Hope’ means to them.
