COUNCIL REVIEWS BUDGET

This coming budget is all about rates, roads and rubbish.

Council has confirmed there’ll be an average rate increase of 2.93 per cent.

Meaning families will have to fork out an extra $1.47 a week, that’s more than $76 a year.

On top of that, Bulk Water and the Carbon Tax will cost 75 cents a week.. or $39 a year.

In total, that’s adds up to around $115 a year.

“We as councillors understand that the Gold Coast want minimal rates as possible, times are tough. We intended to do that but still deliver front line services.”

The budget will be announced on Friday.
