Lake Macquarie police are investigating an arson attack at an earthmoving business at Redhead overnight.
CCTV footage shows two males entering the industrial site at about 11.30pm. Not long after an excavator valued at $250,000 and a bobcat valued at $50,000 were set on fire.
A total of four fire units from Charlestown and Tingara Heights attended the fire, which took 45 minutes to extinguish.
Both pieces of equipment were totally destroyed.
The males were dressed in dark clothes.One man is described as approximately 180cm tall with a skinny build, the other with a medium build.
Detectives are keen to hear from anyone who may have been in the vicinity.
