EROSION CHEWS METRES FROM FINGAL BEACH

The Tweed has also felt the wrath of Mother Nature.
Severe erosion has cut off emergency and public access points to Fingal Beach.
Waves have chewed away metres of the sand dunes, leaving three metre cliffs in some sections, while fallen trees litter the beach and can’t be cleared to due to access restrictions.
The local Surf Life Saving Club is also looking more vulnerable.
