Professor John Attia has claimed the Hunter’s most prestigious medical research award, for his breakthrough work, which includes the identification of a gene that increases a person’s risk of stroke.
The Award for Research Excellence recipient is now looking at the link between the pneumococcal vaccine and a reduction in heart disease.
