SPIKE IN DOMESTIC VIOLENCE ON THE NORTHERN RIVERS

Figures released by the New South Wales Bureau of Crime Statistics have recorded spikes in both domestic violence and fraud offences across the Tweed and Richmond commands.
The statistics show that over the past two years, domestic violence related assaults have increased 6.1 percent while fraud incidents climbed more than 20 percent.
It wasn’t all bad news though, motor vehicle thefts were down 19.4 per cent, while break and enters took the biggest plunge – falling by more than 30 percent.
