MAN CHARGED AFTER ALLEGEDLY SHAKING TWO-MONTH-OLD

A Gold Coast man has been charged with one count of grievous bodily harm, after he allegedly shook his two-month-old baby last night, causing bleeding on the infant’s brain.

His family was at today’s hearing at Southport Court but was in no mood to comment on what the magistrate described as “very serious” allegations.

The man and his family cannot be named for legal reasons.

The baby is thought to be in a serious condition at Brisbane’s Mater Hospital.

The man was granted conditional bail but is yet to raise the 10 thousand dollar surety.
