The Gold Coast’s best computer boffins have been glued to their computer screens this weekend, competing in an Australia wide app creating competition.
GovHack gives participants access to government data, so they can create useful programs the public can use.
“Obviously on the gold coast, there’s lot of demand for tourist information so couple of them are using data collected by tourism australia and other bodies and putting that into a friendly app that inbound tourists and visitors can use.”
Winners share in $150,000 in prizes.
