CAR DANGLES OVER TRAIN LINE

This morning’s wet weather proved too much for this driver on the Waratah rail overpass in Newcastle this morning.

The P-plate driver lost control of her car, careering off the road and down the embankment.

Only a wire fence prevented the Holden Commondore from plunging down on to the railway line below.

The female occupant wasn’t injured in the accident, and no trains were delayed.

Police believe speed was also a factor in the accident.
