PRUSSIAN SECRET ALLEGED DOPING SCANDAL CONTINUES

Horse trainer Cody Morgan – charged over the alleged Prussian Secret doping scandal – had an application to alter his bail conditions refused in Tamworth Local Court today.
His lawyer Paul O’Sullivan sought to have two conditions preventing Morgan from entering a racecourse or engaging in the conduct of a racehorse trainer removed.

“These are new offences that carry serious penalties, and I think that weighed heavily on the magistrate’s mind and rightfully so.”

However, Mr Sullivan says a blood sample taken from Prussian Secret has provided some positive news for Morgan.

The sample was taken to test for ‘total carbon dioxide levels’, which is used as evidence of drenching.

“A horse can race with a TCO of less than 36. This horse’s TCO was between about 31.”

The case is the first of its kind to be handled under new laws by police, instead of racing stewards.
