NORTH COAST COUNCILS MISS OUT ON TRIAL

The state government has been criticised for overlooking North Coast Councils for a trial of Joint Organisations.
Local Government Association President Keith Rhoades, says there should have been at least one group of north coast councils chosen for the project which attracts state funding.
“One would have thought that we would have had a geographical spread across New South Wales to get a really good picture of how these trials are going to work,” Councillor Rhoades said.
The five regional council groups chosen for the trial were Central West, Hunter, Illawarra, Namoi and Riverina.
