LISMORE UNI SAYS SORRY TO THE STOLEN GENERATION

Lismore’s Southern Cross University today hosted a special ceremony, to acknowledge the mistreatment of Indigenous children who were forcibly removed from their families by past governments.
Academics say that while an apology is a step in the right direction, the Federal Government still has a lot more work to do to mend bridges.
“A trauma informed policy program care in practice can mean we are starting to address the deep painful issues that are part of aboriginal lives today.”
Today’s event was a precursor to this Sunday’s National Sorry Day Celebrations.
