GOLD COAST MAN HIT BY CAR WHILE HELPING KOALA

A Gold Coast man is fighting for his life after being hit by a car while trying to help a koala he had hit with his motorbike.

The 29-year-old was travelling on Guineas Creek Road in Tallebudgera last night when he hit the animal.

He then took off his helmet and walked onto the road to help the koala and was hit by a car.

He is in a critical condition in Gold Coast hospital.

  3. @ Jodie, Sadly He did not make it and evan if he had he would have be disabled. It is sad he gave his life for a Koala but that speaks volumes for the person he was.

  4. It takes a very special person to stop to try and help a koala, that he himself didnt even hit and it is an absolute tragedy that he lost his life for it. I have lived in Tallebudgera for 14yrs and have unfortunately seen alot of wildlife and also young people’s lives lost on our local roads and I know that it is no doubt due to the way the majority of drivers speed around this area, if people just slowed down and kept in mind that we do have wildlife, horse riders and cyclist on our roads then just maybe we could avoid terrible tragidies like this one. My heart goes out to his family
