At least 80 yachts are expected in this year’s Sydney to Gold Coast race.
Entries for July’s event opened today.
Bob Oatley’s super maxi Wild Oats XI will be defending last year’s record win.
“She came up the coast in 22 hours for 384 miles – quite remarkable. There’s still a chance she can beat that if the weather’s right. She’ll be hard to beat for line honours no doubt about it.”
The competition’s considered good practise for Hamilton Island Race Week.
