MP WANTS INQUIRY INTO DOUBLE JEOPARDY LAWS
A New South Wales Greens MP wants an inquiry into laws which prevent the main suspect in the Bowraville child murders from being re-tried.
David Shoebridge will move a motion in the upper house for a parliamentary inquiry into the double jeopardy laws and whether they need to be scrapped or amended.
Prosecutions against a suspect for the murder of Clinton Speedy-Douroux and Evelyn Greenup 22 years ago were unsuccessful.
Relatives and friends of the victims recently rallied outside state parliament calling for an inquiry.
