The elderly pilot killed in an ultralight crash near Taree earlier this week, has been identified as 80-year-old Stuart Jacobs from Wingham.
Mr Jacobs was the only person on board the aircraft, when it crashed on a property at Mitchells Island at around midday on Tuesday.
Police say Mr Jacobs, who had lengthy flying experience, was in an ameteur build super diamond ultralight.
Crime scene investigators are working with Recreational Aviation Australia to determine what caused the crash.
