Star kiwi driver Anthony Butt will attempt to repeat last year’s well-timed run when he gets behind My Temudjin in Saturday’s Newcastle Mile.
Butt won the Group 2-event on Raglan last year.
After a strong win at Menangle, Excel Stride is likely to start a short favourite for the race, which for the second time will automatically qualify the winner for the $750,000 Miracle Mile.
