NURSE ACTION FOR AGENCY RELIEF CONTINUES

The New South Wales Nurses Association is encouraging its Lismore Base Hospital members,
to say no to excessive overtime and abandon non patient related paper work, if the Local Health District continues to refuse their plea for extra staff.
It’s the latest strategy by nurses to pressure management into providing them with relief.
“The question of agency nurses is still under consideration. We are in the Industrial Relations commission and it has asked us to approach other agencies other then the Gold Coast to see if they may be able to provide us with nurses in a timely fashion.”
Currently nurses are covered by a casual float pool.
