A bad night for our region in the Waratah Basketball League, with Maitland suffering a heavy defeat against Norths Bears, while Newcastle went down to Manly.
The new-look Hunters were hoping to bounce back from an opening round loss to Penrith.
Ryan Biesty was on fire early for the home side, eventually finishing as equal top scorer on 21, while also grabbing 10 boards.
But in the end, the experienced Sea Eagles produced an impressive fourth quarter to win by 11.
