At Ourimbah – a local group organised, a birth kit assembly day – to celebrate International Women’s Day.
Containing gauze, gloves and other essentials, the kits will be distributed to 23 countries – to help women who give birth at home.
At present – one woman dies every minute from complications related to pregnancy or birth.
These clean birthing kits will help to reduce high rates of maternal mortality in developing countries.
