The Nerang Neighbourhood Centre’s foodbank will soon re-open following a wave of community support.
The service which provided $15 foodboxes for struggling families was forced to close earlier this month due to a lack of funding.
“Today we’ve banked $22,100 from generous community donations which we’re just blown away by, and I’m very pleased to say within two weeks we’ll be up and running again.”
Organisers say they just need to re-stock the shelves.
Last year, they fed almost 10,000 people.
