FIRE BREAKS OUT IN NAMBUCCA HEADS UNIT BLOCK

There were fears someone could have been trapped in an old unit block at Nambucca Heads this morning, after a fire broke out in the three storey building.
Firefighters managed to contain the blaze to the lower level, before scouring the complex for residents.
NSW Fire and Rescue Inspector Tony Lenthall said, “As a result of the search of the building the occupants were found and the fire was knocked down very quickly by the crew.”
Concerns about asbestos in the fibro building prompted firefighters to wear breathing masks.
The cause of the blaze is not yet known.
