PARKO AND PALS CARVE UP NEWCASTLE HARBOUR AT SURFEST

Newcastle Harbour only produces ridable waves a few times a year, but today it came to the rescue for the penultimate day of Surfest.
World champion Joel Parkinson just one of the competitors who rose to the challenge of tackling the treacherous break.
Great to see, most years in the past when Surfest has been on the harbour has been crackin’, would love to see the old news story u guys (NBN) did on this wave in early 80s when it first started breaking after the harbour deepening project by the ports authority, it was always a heavy wave & one of Newys best, though it has changed over the years with the continual replacement of rock to shore up the walls strength.
