FLOOD WARNING DOWNGRADED

The Bureau of Meterology has downgraded it’s warning to a minor to moderate flood watch for the Northern Rivers.

Overnight, the system is expected to produce more than 100mm of rain across the region, but will cross the Coast further south than anticipated.

While this will bring some relief to the area, the S-E-S is warning resident’s not to become complacent.

“It’s still a moderate to major flood warning so people shouldn’t become complacent. There’s still a great risk of extensive flooding accross the region and obviously the roadways etc will still be quite dangerous”

So far S-E-S has received more than 73 calls for help and responded to two swift water rescues.
