There was a spectacular sight off Cabarita this morning when a waterspout appeared on the horizon.
Witnesses flocked to the beach to watch the twister, which was coupled with a thunderstorm.
“The rain kept coming in and the spout became larger and larger and was washing out to sea 14.03 but it reformed twice.”
“We had a blackout and thunder was hitting it was sort of scary.”
The spout never made landfall.
A severe thunderstorm warning has been cancelled for the region.
