A 23-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder, after allegedly stabbing a young woman at Gladstone, north of Kempsey.
Police allege he entered a home on Barnard Street yesterday morning and stabbed the 21-year-old in the throat, arms and torso, before a 19-year-old woman intervened.
The woman is in a serious, but stable condition in hospital.
