ACCESS PAST LANDSLIP UNDER INVESTIGATION
Byron Shire Council is asking land owners to give emergency services access to their properties, so they can reach residents stranded by a landslip at Upper Coopers Creek.
The road is on the brink of collapsing and has been closed to both traffic and pedestrians since Wednesday.
Around 100 residents have been isolated by the slip and the SES has been flying in essential items by helicopter.
“The road itself is about 150 metres of severe landslip there’s cracks on the road, under the road above the road we need at least a week to observe it.”
For those affected, road updates are available on the council website.
