CHARITY BY THE TRUCK LOAD

For the past decade, volunteers at the Hope Shop in Port Macquarie have been helping those less fortunate.

Today, a small army of volunteers spent the morning loading over 11 tonnes of donated clothing onto a truck that will travel to Sydney.

The cargo will then be shipped to Africa.

“There’s nothing better than just seeing a whole mix of people from all walks of life in our Port Macquarie community just come together and give up half an hour, come out of work, have fun, they know they’re doing something really worth while.”

Every few months items are collected from eight op-shops from Kempsey to Taree and donated overseas.
