GUNMAN CUTS OFF TEENS EAR DURING ROBBERY ON THE GOLD COAST

A teenage boy has had part of his ear cut off with scissors during a bizarre armed robbery on the Gold Coast.

The 16-year-old victim and his 15-year-old friend were walking in Varsity Lakes late last night when a man confronted them with a gun.

The man ordered the boys to follow him to a nearby jetty, demanding they hand over their belongings.

He then used a pair of scissors to cut off the bottom of the 16-year-olds ear lobe before fleeing.

The gunman is described as being Pacific Islander in appearance, of solid to heavy build, around 188cm tall and with short, black hair.

He was wearing a black shirt, brown three-quarter length shorts and black shoes.
