COUNTRY SINGER SINGS FOR CANCER FUNDS

An elderly country and western singer is trying to bring some cheer to Clarence Valley residents as they recover from the flood.

79-year-old Grafton busker Roger Green was a local finalist in the Australia Day Citizen of the Year Awards for his work in raising money for cancer sufferers.

Roger says,”I have raised almost $30-thousand dollars by sitting on my backside in the streets singing for cancer.”

Just back from some street performances at the Tamworth Country Music Festival, Roger’s new itinerary includes entertaining at local nursing homes.
