Firefighters were forced to contend with falling live powerlines while battling a blaze at Floraville overnight.
Just after midnight, the occupant of a Floraville Road property was woken by her barking dog, as smoke filled the house.
Fire crews were quickly on the scene but the blaze spread rapidly to a neighbouring property and threatened another.
It took firefighters an hour to extinguish the flames.
One resident was treated at the scene by paramedics.
The cause of the fire is being investigated.
