Urunga residents have had a win with the Roads and Maritime Services agreeing to reduce the speed limit in their town next week.
From Tuesday the speed limit will be reduced from 60 to 50 kilometres per hour through the town.
Protests from residents following a double-fatality in Urunga in January has seen a number of safety improvements made to the road.
Later this year cameras, which will monitor speeding trucks, will be installed north and south of the town.
