Water police have called off the search for a man, seen jumping from the Chevron Island Bridge into the Nerang River.
A witness claims to have seen the man jump from the eastern bridge at about 9 o’clock last night prompting a full scale search.
He was reportedly with two friends at the time who quickly ran away.
No missing person report has been filed and no belongings were found on the beach.
The search was called off late this afternoon.
