FLYING FOXES DYING FROM THE HEAT

This week’s 40-plus temperatures have led to the death of more than 200 flying foxes at a colony in North Avoca.

Wildlife carers say the bats are very sensitive to heat and can quickly die from dehydration.

They fear the situation is at a crisis point

70 flying foxes are now in their care.
