TAP-AND-GO ENTERS INTO THE RED SHIELD APPEAL

The Salvation Army is moving into the digital era, introducing a tap-and-go system for this year’s Red Shield Appeal.
More than 500 paywave machines have been rolled out across the country to try and tap into the younger generation.
“If they’re cashless, if they’re more comfortable with that style of giving, then they can come up and they can give an instant $10 donation and that will go straight towards the Red Shield Appeal.”
Anyone who wishes to donate can find the Salvos volunteers inside Tamworth Shopping World.

How much does VISA get out of doing this? Is there processing fee on top of the donation? I think I’d rather pay cash than “go to bed with the banks”.
