For almost 80 years, the Fingal Rowers Surf Life Saving Club has been a constant in the community.
Now, it’s the one being rescued.
Four years after funding issues saw much-needed renovations ground to a halt, work is finally underway again, thanks to the support of the Tooheys New Crew.
“It’ll mean that our members will be back. They’ve got a place to come to, and a place for the community to come to as well. And it will just bring back morale and club spirit.”
The revamp will include sleeping quarters for members and extra storage space, so rescue craft no longer have to be stored in shipping containers.
