There are plans to reopen West Tamworth’s freight centre, and use trucks to get the coal and grain shipments moving again in the short term.
While it does mean more trucks will be seen on local roads, it could also mean more jobs down the track.
Tamworth’s Deputy Mayor Russell Webb hopes it could see the transport hub operate on a permanent basis.
