BERNARD TOMIC TALKS MISSING OUT ON THE DAVIS CUP OPENER

Troubled local tennis ace, Bernard Tomic claims it was his choice to be left out of the opening Davis Cup tie in Taiwan.
Reports today suggested he was suspended by Tennis Australia, with officials saying the former teen star’s recent poor attitude and behaviour were behind the drastic move.
“I wanted to be left out so I could concentrate on training on tennis. Are you disappointed? Obviously you must be? Yeah, I spoke to Pat that I was going to miss one and maybe the second. So that was my own thing so I could train and get ready for the next season of playing.”
There are also rumours the governing body will cut the 20-year-old’s lucrative support funding, meaning Tomic could be out of pocket by as much as 100-thousand dollars.
