INVESTIGATION WORKS BEGIN FOR LIGHT RAIL

Newcastle’s light rail project continues to press ahead, with investigation works starting along the route this week.

The first section under consideration is along Hunter Street, between Worth Place and Auckland Street, with two lanes closed to traffic.

The works are designed to map where water, electricity and sewerage is located under the road, before construction begins on the project early next year.
