Motorists experienced long delays on the Pacific Highway at Kew today, as firefighters struggled to extinguish an out of control scrub fire.
More than 50 firefighters and four water bombing helicopters fought the blaze, which is expected to be contained later tonight.
The highway was closed in both directions for over two hours.
No properties are under direct threat from the fire.
