PINK RIP AT PARK BEACH

Pink waves were crashing at Park Beach this morning, but far from being rosey, the colour was reminding beach-goers of a very sinister side to the ocean.
Part of Surf Life Saving’s ‘Rip Current Awareness Day’, the fluorescent dye was being thrown into beaches across NSW, in a bid to show the often unseen dangers of the ocean.
“Raise the publics awareness to what a rip will actually do, how it actually forms up and goes out into the ocean, and what to do if you actually see where the rip forms up on the beach.”
