HORSEBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS FINISH UP IN TAMWORTH

It’s just like basketball, except it’s played on horseback.
Today, the 2012 Australian Horseball Championships wrapped up in Tamworth.
A relatively new sport to Australia, this weekend gave local players a chance to test out their skills against some of the best horseballers in the country.
A team from Barraba took out the junior category, while an Upper Hunter side won the mixed competition.
And in today’s men’s final – it was a Tamworth side who had the last say.
The two-day event attracted almost 80 competitors from Queensland, Canberra and the Hunter Valley.
