Truckies travelling on the Pacific Highway between Urunga and Valla are now having their speed monitored by point-to-point cameras.
It comes after Urunga residents staged a protest in the town following the double fatality in January, where a young boy died when a B-double crashed into two houses.
The cameras are one of a number of safety improvements which include reducing the speed limit in the town.
