GIRLS ESCAPES SERIOUS HARM AFTER GETTING ARM STUCK IN POOL SKIMMER BOX

A nine-year-old girl has escaped with a small fracture and minor abrasions, after getting her arm stuck in a pool skimmer box in Port Macquarie.

Emergency services were called to a home on Anderson Street just after 5:30 yesterday evening.

More than a dozen S-E-S volunteers were involved in the delicate operation to extract the girl’s arm from the intake pipe of the pool, which took about three hours.

She was taken to Port Macquarie Hospital and treated for her injuries.
