A teenager from Kurri Kurri has been mysteriously bitten by a taipan, one of the world’s deadliest snakes.
Yesterday the 17-year-old went to the emergency department at Kurri Kurri Hospital reporting he had been bitten on his left hand.
He took the snake to the hospital with him, where local wildlife volunteers identified it as an inland taipan, which is not native to the area.
The boy is in a stable condition.
