Two rescue helicopters were called to a serious road accident, north of Newcastle this afternoon.
Six people including children, were injured in the head-on collision between a people mover and sedan on Woodberry Road at Millers Forest, at around 2.30.
The driver of the Torago was a 17-year-old female learner driver and has been taken to John Hunter Hospital suffering serious leg and chest injuries.
Two of the patients were trapped in the vehicles for around half an hour before being freed and taken to John Hunter Hospital.
