The local health district will soon put out a tender to hire a locum medical officer agency able to provide,
24 hour care all year round at Bonalbo Hospital.
The system would be in place until a permanent doctor is found to replace Dr Tierney, who retired at the end of last year.

Meanwhile, a on-call nursing service has started at the hospital, allowing residents to get overnight care between 11pm and 7 o’clock in the morning.
“You ring up the phone, get on the nurses and say I need some care and they will come within about 15 minutes”
