PAVEY INSPECTS FLOOD DAMAGE, PLEDGES DISASTER FUNDING

New South Wales Roads Minister Melinda Pavey has toured the Northern Rivers, assessing flood damage to local infrastructure.

With repairs likely to cost around $100 million, she’s promised affected councils will receive adequate disaster funding.

“It could have been much worse, but the work will get done in a quick and timely fashion, and the state and the federal government will be right beside council.”

The minister also announced a contractor has been chosen to replace Tabulam bridge, and Tenterfield Council has received funding to build the town’s first truck wash.
